New, integrated Advanced Visual English dictionary incorporates leading edge technology bridging the gap between memorization and understanding for first and second language English learners.

Infinit Software Solutions℠, Inc., a leading software developer for the business, non-profit and educational sectors announces today the availability of a comprehensive, user friendly dictionary which offers several new and expanded features to ensure the most effective learning of Advanced English vocabulary.

AZWordPic™ was developed based on real teaching experience with English language learners, first and second language, of all ages and nationalities. Visual explanations are included along with audio pronunciation examples, synonyms, antonyms, homophones, etymology, search history and a sophisticated pattern search for help with spelling are all incorporated into the main product. The database is being continuously updated and expanded.

According to Michael Bender, Senior Vice President and a current cultural English specialist, “AZWordPic” is based on learning skills of students who have improved memory and understanding, particularly with abstract words, when they see a picture and read several example sentences.” He continued: “Our experience with students has demonstrated that learners are often unable to use words (based on simple dictionary definitions) properly with other words in everyday speech and writing. Context learning,” he said, “seems to duplicate our early language experiences when we hear ever expanding sentences and pick-up context and usage without additional explanation.” In pilot studies, students averaged 70% correct usage of dictionary defined words without benefit of context and visual assists. That number increased to nearly 100% once the students were provided with additional context and visual clues.

AZWordPic can be privately branded, utilized online or as a standalone. OEM and distributor inquiries are invited.
